English Ministry 101

Please RSVP for attendance:

What's the topic?
English Ministry 101
  • Successful models for running an English Ministry in a Chinese Church
  • Growth phases of the English Ministry
  • Tips on how to best work with the Chinese side of the church: how to navigate the cultural waters
  • Pitfalls and mistakes to avoid

When and where?

Saturday, January 29, 2-4pm at the Church
The actual training time will be 2-3:30pm, with Q&A, free form discussion to follow.

Let us know if you're interested in joining us for a followup dinner with Pastor Ken from 5-7pm later that evening.

Who's teaching?
Pastor Ken Carlson is English Pastor at the Chinese for Christ Berkeley church in California.  Pete and Esther know him from our days as college students at CFC Berkeley.

Whereas the average "survival rate" of an English Pastor in a Chinese church is 2-3 years, Pastor Ken has successfully led his congregation for the past 16 years.  He's currently grooming a 2nd generation English Pastor homegrown from the church to carry the CFC English congregation into the new millenium.

Pastor Ken's key gifts are in leadership training and discipleship

Who should come?
Everyone in the CECV community who's interested in seeing the CECV English Ministry grow in depth and maturity -- and open to doing their part in making that happen.

If this event is successful, we'd like to have followup sessions quarterly.
